Musical theatre is a very specific art form encompassing a style all of its own. At Purple Dragon Theatre & 42nd Street, we provide training tailored to meet the unique demands of the musical theatre stage.
Training in musical theatre produces a well-rounded performer who is able to adapt to and meet the requirements of a wide range of performing art forms. Many successful musical theatre performers have also enjoyed success in straight theatre, film, television, music, dance/cabaret and animation.
At Purple Dragon Theatre & 42nd Street, we offer high quality musical theatre training for all levels from beginner through to professional. No matter what your interest or long-term goal, we have the right program for you. We have produced 44 Musicals over the past 7 years!
Our staff are qualified professionals from the Musical Theatre, Theatre, Dance and Music industries with extensive teaching/coaching experience. Teacher:student ratio is kept small so that individual attention can be given.
Rehearsals are conducted in a workshop manner whereby students receive individual attention.
All productions are performed in a local theatre for the general public, journalists, casting agents, etc.
