To provide high quality musical theatre training for all levels from beginner through to professional in a FUN and 'safe' environment.

Mission

If a student does not believe in their own ability, no amount of theatre training in the world will be able to help them reach their full potential. At Purple Dragon Theatre & 42nd Street we believe that nurturing self-confidence is the key to developing students' overall performance. We take great care to create and maintain a fun, relaxed and safe environment in which students are encouraged to experiment with their abilities and take risks.

We make an effort to get to know our students and develop personalized training to suit their individual needs.

Purple Dragon Theatre & 42nd Street’s musical theatre productions are an opportunity for those serious about a career in performing arts, or simply those talented folk out to have fun, to further develop their acting, singing and movement skills in a solid learning environment.

Rehearsals are conducted in a workshop manner whereby students receive individual attention. We make an effort to get to know our students and develop personalized training to suit their individual needs. We offer three training levels for all age groups. Each production includes performers of all three levels, thereby allowing for a more rounded learning experience while rendering the program suitable for beginners through to professional level performers.

All productions are performed in a local theatre for the general public, journalists, casting agents, etc. Participation is through audition only. Auditions are held in June and January/February of each year.
